The Puranas repeatedly teach that the components of the body develop from one another in a sequence:
Brahmanda Purana - Book 3, Chapter 72
43 Blood takes its origin from Rasa (a vital fluid constituent of the body) and it is said that the flesh originates from blood.
44 The source of fat is from the flesh. It is defined that the bone originates from the fat. From the bone the pith and marrow take their origin and the origin of Semen is from the marrow.
Brahma Purana - Chapter 70
48 From juice originates blood, and flesh originates from blood.
49 Fat is produced from flesh; bone is produced from fat; marrow is generated from bone and semen is produced from marrow.
Vayu Purana - Book 2, Chapter 35
44 Rasa (the lymphatic juice) becomes blood; flesh is developed out of blood.
45 From flesh fat is produced, and bone is developed from fat. Pith and marrow are developed from bone, and semen virile is generated from marrow;
Harivamsha Purana - Book 1, Chapter 40
48 Blood is engendered by juice and by blood is created flesh.
49 From flesh originates fat and from fat originate the bones and from the bones originate the veins and from veins originates the seminal fluid.
The order of the development of the components of the body, in light of the above references, with each step producing the successive step, would be:
The above is completely scientifically inaccurate. In order to produce semen, the body does not start with blood, then make flesh (muscle?), then fat, then bones, then marrow, then finally, arrive at semen. Neither does it make fat in order to create bone. Etc.
Therefore, this is an instance of scientific error in the Hindu scriptures.
